Visa Requirements for UK and US passport holders:
UK and US passport holders require visas for both business and tourist trips.
Important Information:
It is important to note that if you have any connection with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan or China (previous nationality, were born there, your spouse is from there etc...) they will refer your application for an unspecified amount of time( it has been over a month in some cases).
We lodge at the Visa centre and the passport is then taken to the High Commission for processing. If you suddenly need your passport returned we cannot go back to the visa centre to collect it easily, it will probably cause a delay of at least one day as they will have to have it returned from the High Commission. So please make sure you have no travel plans that this may interfere with before sending the passport to us.
The indian High Commission has now instated areas of Jurisdiction, i.e. if you are in Birmingham you will need to apply for the visa at the Birmingham centre; if you send it to us in London they might not accept the application. For ALL nationals requiring visas:
- Application form - this must be signed both under the photo on page one and also the back page.
- Declaration form
- ATH Order form
- Passport (must be valid for 6 months after the visa would expire, citizens of dual nationality will be required to present both passports)
- 2 Photographs - must be 2 inches x 2 inches, standard UK passport photos are not accepted
- Original Company Letter (business only) - click for a template
- Invitation letter (business only)
- For non UK nationals either a UK visa for indefinite leave or a Utility bill dated between 24 and 30 months and also one that is less than a month old - clearly showing UK addresses. The bills must both be from the same company. If you have a UK visa they will want to see this also, even if it is in a previous passport. If you cannot supply these then your application will be referred, please contact us for more information.
Time required:
3 - 4 working days, though during busy periods this can take longer.
There is now an option for same day applications for business visas only but we need to have the documents by 16.30 the day before in order to lodge this in time, please call for more info.
Minimum Validity:
6 months multiple (some nationalities will be restricted to single entry and 3 months please contact us for details).
Charges:
ATH fees:
- (standard service): £90+VAT (£108 inc VAT).
- (one day service): £120+VAT (£144 inc VAT).
Visa centre fees
- £9.70+VAT handling fee.
- same day service the visa centre (VFS Global) will charge £25+VAT
Consulate fees.
The High commission will add £75 for same day business application.
UK Passport holders:
Tourist Visas
- Up to a multiple for 6 months £30
- Multiple entry for 1 year £50
- Multiple entry for 2 year £90
Business Visas
- Multiple entry for up to 1 year £105
- Multiple entry for more than 1 year £160
US passport holders are charged £15 more than the advertised amount, the charge for business visas also begins at a higher level as below:
Tourist Visas
- Up to a multiple for 6 months £45 (£30+£15)
- Multiple entry for 1 year £65 (£50 + £15)
- Multiple entry for 2 year £105 (£90 + £15)
Business Visas
- Up to a multiple entry for 1 year £110 (£95 + £15)
- Multiple entry for 2 year £165 (£150 + £15)
for Non UK nationals that are referred due to not having a utility bill as proof of UK residency:
- Supplement £10 additional to the normal consulate fee.
- For US passport holders: Supplement £25 additional to the normal consulate fee.
